About us

The BONVER Group is the owner and operator of one of the largest networks of gambling halls and casinos in the Czech Republic. Under the BONVER brand you will find more than 50 gaming rooms, casinos and bars in the Czech Republic. In more than 100 other locations, the BONVER brand operates in the premises of business partners. With a total of more than 150 outlets, we are one of the most stable groups of our kind in Central Europe.

Of course, building such a strong and stable company did not happen overnight. It was a journey full of honest work, determination and a professional approach.

The first years

The year 1990 was a period that allowed virtually all inhabitants of the former Czechoslovakia to show their entrepreneurial talent. The BONVER group was founded during this period.

In the early days of the business, entrepreneurial interests were still forming and intertwining, and few focused on just one field. In 1992, the founders of BONVER, thanks to their experience in food distribution, acquired the representation of the Packaging Trade Company for the sale of spices. BONVER soon became one of the leading spice suppliers not only in the Czech Republic but also in Slovakia.

Import of bananas from Ecuador was added to the spice trade. The import of bananas and their shipment required significant investments in distribution facilities, including the construction of modern ripening warehouses in the Czech Republic and the provision of logistics processes for the export of bananas to other European countries.

Key decisions

Having your own pub was a dream for many people after 1990. Therefore, the next logical activity was to purchase food and catering related properties. The funds raised by the grocery business were reinvested in these properties. One of the examples of these projects still in operation is the four-star Hotel Rajka in Valašské Meziříčí with its renowned restaurant, which has been one of the gastronomic leaders in Wallachia for decades. 

At the same time, in the 1990s, restaurants and pubs began to become centres for the operation of slot machines, billiards and other entertainment facilities. The owners of BONVER could either let others make money in their establishments or they could become active in lottery operations themselves. They decided to purchase and furnish properties suitable for operating their own chain of gambling halls and casinos under the Club or Casino Bonver brand.

Development of the BONVER Group

In 2003, BONVER acquired representation for the Czech Republic and Slovakia from one of the world's most important manufacturers of electronic roulette, the Slovenian company INTERBLOCK. This created the basis for expansion beyond the company's own premises. Within a few years, BONVER became one of the most important players on the electronic roulette market.

The following years also saw the arrival of another technological innovation - systems enabling betting via video lottery terminals (VLTs). The founders again sensed the potential in the market and exploited it. In the last fifteen years, BONVER has had the widest portfolio of gaming equipment on the Czech market.

BONVER in numbers

Prior to the adaptation of the new Gambling Act in 2018, the company operated 6,000 VLTs, 350 electromechanical roulettes, and 750 gaming machines (VHP). During this period, it also employed 600 employees in approximately 500 locations across the Czech Republic. The current number of gaming devices operated by the BONVER Group is approximately 3,500. The BONVER Group currently employs around 300 people. The company uses extensive service facilities with more than 40 mechanics and 60 specialized vehicles throughout the country.

The total assets of the BONVER Group currently amount to CZK 3.669 billion. Over the last 10 years of its operations in the Czech Republic, the BONVER Group has paid CZK 5.699 billion in taxes and related statutory levies to the Czech State Budget. Between 2012 and 2022, the BONVER Group supported non-profit projects focused on culture and sport in local communities in the total amount of CZK 6.533 million. CZK. 

BONVER online casino

BONVER ONLINE CASINO will compete with the existing established brands from 07/2023. The online casino project is being built by BONVER since 2022 with a professional team of specialists who have years of experience in the field of Internet technical gaming and betting with leading Czech and international companies engaged in the development of online games for the gambling industry. 

As part of the launch of BONVER ONLINE CASINO, the BONVER Group also joins the Responsible Gaming Programme - Hraj hlavou and also cooperates with the Neprohraj se organisation. This is about recommendations and advice on how to play so that the game remains just a game for fun. For example:

The future of BONVER

In 2022, a strategic investment partner joined the BONVER Group. The new interconnection of businesses of different focus creates a unique opportunity to maintain the position of the Czech market leader in the gambling segment and to further develop intensively.

As we have already mentioned, the BONVER Group has been preparing intensively for its entry into the online gambling segment for a long time. During 2023, it will launch a spectacular online casino project on the domain bonvercasino.cz. 

At the turn of 2023/2024, the Group plans to open a world-class casino near Prague on an area of almost 4,000 m2, which will be a world-class casino in the Czech Republic in terms of technology and services offered.

From 2024 onwards, the plan is to expand the portfolio of technical gambling games offered to include live games such as Roulette, Black Jack, Pontoon, Baccarat, Poker and Ultimate Hold'em Poker. For this spectacular project, we are working with specialists with 30 years of international experience in the field of live gaming organisation.
